Ian Daisley - The Peak District in Black & White

Ian’s love of black and white photography is illustrated in this presentation of the Peak District. Seeing the landscape in black and white gives us a different perspective; it also allows us to develop interesting images using shapes and patterns in the world around us.

This is a digital presentation showing digital and film images, which includes some explanations and demonstrations of methods used to process his RAW files to black & white. Ian uses Capture One Pro for all his RAW file workflow.

Our annual self-entertainment day

12 January 2025

Christine Widdall FBPE, MPAGB, EFIAP, APAGB, HonLCPU

Christine is back to tell us all about AI. She explains her talk as follows: -

In the first half, I’m going to explore what AI is, how it works, what it can do.

I’m going to ask you all to be AI machines in a brief practical session.

I’m going to talk about rabbits. I like rabbits.

We'll take a look at how AI is being integrated into our software.

I’m going to ask more questions than I can answer and hopefully create some topics for discussion.

In the second half, I’m going to explore what we are likely to be allowed to use in club photography.

Whether AI can be detected and policed.

How original is AI artwork?

Copyright and ownership issues.
What use is it, if not in our photography, including a few of my AI art images.

And where it’s going.

February 2025 - May 2025 to be confirmed
